With jackpots that average in the $800 ranges, it would work theoretically, but it does not work out that way in real life.
Let’s assume that in order to win, you would be betting $45 per spin of the reels. For small amounts like Rapid Fire Jackpots offer that would mean risking a lot for low rewards. In case the jackpot is high enough it may be a good idea to do a larger bet every so many spins to double your chances of winning overall. Should you fail in taking the jackpot, at least you increase your chances of winning another prize from the reel combinations.
